Just finished it this morning....Background is White on White print...Wedges were sewn together, then hand appliqued on. I used a pretty little Blue & White Gingham Check with tiny Pink & Oranges Roses for the binding and backing.
I hope some little girl will love and treasure this quilt for many, many years.....Project Linus Donation.
This is our little place in the country...peace & serenity and never a boring minute.
This morning's picking in our garden. This is the second time I've picked this many tomatoes....and still more out there for me to get. That's a lot of BLT's, tomatoes & scrambled eggs or cottage cheese for this ole gal.
This is what I do when I can't sleep at night. I finished one last night in colors for a boy. This one is for a girl.
I have made many....enjoying every hour working on them....All For Project Linus.
till next time...
My garden is doing well, despite some late planting on my part. The 24 tomato plants are huge and full of green tomatoes, love those fried green tomatoes. Ever bearer strawberries are doing well. Yellow squash, acorn squash, cucumbers, butternut squash, bell peppers & green beans all doing well. The yellow squash are full of squash.
The last few years, I have only had the raised bed (fenced in part). This year I decided to have more garden area like I did when we first moved here.
I haven't been posting the last few months very much...my hubby's parents both past away just 17 days apart. It's been hard, but we are trying to get back at our lives again. We now have 2 houses to take care of and all the yard work.
As you see I have started sewing again.
This will take me a year to do probably...Hexagon Queen Sized Quilt, all done by hand. Yes, I know, I could do this with a sewing machine, but this ole gal loves a challenge.
I am using scraps from my stash & tea dyed muslin.
I entered a few of my hand made quilts in a local quilt show this weekend. My Grandmother's Fan Quilt won 1st Place in the Pieced Category. I received $10, 4 spools of Cotton Quilting Thread ($52 value), a large tote & a blue ribbon.
I had a gentleman come up to me wanting to buy my Midnight Gardens Quilt, I politely told him it wasn't for sale. He kept complimenting me on this quilt and my work, even down to the quilt label. I think he was disappointed I wouldn't sale it to him.
Here is a past picture of my Midnight Gardens Quilt.
So, another quilt show done and now it's time to think and make more quilts for next year's show....hmmm, what to make??
till next time....
Here is January Block...I am using Tea Muslin & Black DMC Perle Cotton Thread...
And here is February Block. I am enjoying spending the evenings stitching, hard for me to put them down. March is in the embroidery hoop for this evening's work...and then I will be caught up.
till next time...
This quilt is Finished! I stayed up late last night and got.
All the fabric used was from my personal stash...I thought about making flying geese sashing around each block, but decided against it as I wanted the blocks to stand out and not the sashing...keep it sweet and simple.
I haven't decided yet to add it to my collection of quilts or donate it to PROJECT LINUS.
Here is a close up picture, so you can see the print I used and binding.
Hey friends, I'm still here. I haven't posted in a while..been busy making Project Linus quilts & afghans...20 quilts & 9 crocheted afghans since Jan, 1st.
Last night, I decided it was time for another quilt for my personal stash...and here is the first block. Carolina Lily, it will have the scrappy look, except the baskets will all be the same print. This will be a queen sized quilt. Hope I do this pattern justice.
I made this fun little quilt..start to finish yesterday. It was so much fun to make, I couldn't leave it alone. I am hoping there is a little person out there that will get lots of smiles in their life owning it....and lots of cuddle time. I plan to make quite a few of these fun quilts....for PROJECT LINUS.
